How Can I Check My Dental Insurance Coverage?

Visit your universities coverage page for details on your university’s specific coverage details on your student dental insurance plans. You can also contact your university’s insurance office or reach out to us via our Contact Page for assistance.

If you're a University of Guelph student and need help understanding your plan, visit mystudentplan.ca or contact their support team directly for more info.

Is UNIDENT Free or Do I Need to Pay Anything Upfront?

UNIDENT isn’t a free service, but we also don’t charge you anything. Our goal is to help you take full advantage of the dental insurance you’re already paying for as a student by connecting you with dentists who work within your insurance coverage.

The dentists we work with will do their best to keep your treatment within the limits of your student dental plan, so you typically don’t have to pay anything out of pocket. However, if you choose any additional treatments or services that aren’t fully covered by your plan, those extra costs will be your responsibility.

It’s also up to you to know how much coverage you have left—especially if you’ve already used part of it earlier in the year. If you're a University of Guelph student and need help understanding your plan, visit mystudentplan.ca or contact their support team directly for more info.

How Long Does It Take to Get Matched with a Dentist?

You can expect to be matched with a dentist within 1–3 business days. If you haven't received a confirmation by then, check your spam folder or reach out through our Contact Page.

Can I Use UNIDENT If I’m Not a Full-Time Student?

At this time, UNIDENT is only available to full-time undergraduate students enrolled at participating universities. We're working on expanding eligibility in the future!

Is My Information Safe with UNIDENT?

Absolutely. We only collect minimal information necessary for booking. We do not store or collect your health or insurance data. Learn more in our Privacy Policy.

Commonly Asked Questions How Do I Reschedule My Appointment?
Commonly Asked Questions

How Do I Reschedule My Appointment?

If you need to reschedule your appointment, please contact the dental office directly using the phone number provided in your appointment details. UNIDENT does not handle rescheduling, so it’s important to speak with the dentist as soon as possible.

When rescheduling, be sure to inform the dental office that you booked through UNIDENT. This ensures that your appointment is properly tracked and that you remain eligible for your gift card after your visit.

What If I Miss My Appointment?

Missing an appointment without notice can make you ineligible to receive a gift card. Dentists set aside time for your visit, and failing to attend without proper rescheduling may affect your ability to book future appointments through UNIDENT.

If you cannot make your appointment, please call the dental office in advance to reschedule. Let them know you booked through UNIDENT so they can update your records accordingly.

Your gift card is only issued after the dentist confirms your attendance. If you miss your appointment without notice, you may not be eligible for future rewards.

Commonly Asked Questions

How Do I Claim My Gift Card?

After completing your appointment, you will receive an email with instructions on how to claim your gift card. Simply follow the link in the email, select your preferred gift card, and it will be sent to you digitally.

Please note that gift cards are only issued once the dental office confirms your attendance. This process may take up to a few business days after your appointment. If you haven't received your gift card after this time, ensure the dentist has confirmed your visit before reaching out to our support team.

Can I Book Through UNIDENT More Than Once?

You can book through UNIDENT once per academic year. If you’ve already booked and completed an appointment this year, you will be eligible to book again in the following school year.

Gift cards are only issued for completed appointments. Attempting to book an appointment and not showing up may result in losing eligibility for future rewards and could lead to a ban from our platform. If you cannot attend your appointment, please contact the dental office in advance to reschedule.

How Can I Earn More Rewards?

Our **Referral Program** is coming soon! This program will allow you to earn additional rewards by referring friends to book and complete their dental appointments through UNIDENT.

For every friend you refer who successfully completes their appointment, you’ll receive a bonus reward. More details on how to participate will be announced soon, so stay tuned!

What Types of Gift Cards Can I Choose From?

You’ll be able to choose from a variety of popular gift cards, including Amazon, Starbucks, Tim Hortons, and more. The list may vary depending on availability at the time of claim. You'll see the selection once we send you the email with your gift card link.

I Didn’t Receive My Gift Card—What Should I Do?

First, double-check that the dental office confirmed your appointment attendance. If it's been more than 7 business days and you've confirmed attendance, please contact us at support@unident.ca so we can assist you.
